VetSoc has traditionally invited guest speakers to the university, to give students greater perspectives in reserach, career and interest. In recent years, due to a change in interest within the student body, the Society has encouraged students to attend guest lecturers invited by the Animal Welfare Society - which actively invite guest lecturers on a weekly basis.
The Sydney University Veterinary Society supports final year students in both degrees by providing selected students with a scholarship prize of $250. This scholarship prize is awarded to 3 fifth year Veterinary students and 1 fourth year AVBS student at the commencement of their final year to provide assistance for placements. Nominees must be a part of the Society in order to be considered for this scholarship. The prize is determined by the Faculty and not by the Society, preventing any bias. For more details refer to the Faculty office.
VetSoc have previous organised informal tutorial style classes to help with anybody who needs it. Organised by volunteers in 2nd and 3rd year, many students have managed to improve with a bit of VetSoc help. If this sounds like it would help you, please don't hesitate to contact VetSoc and we can try to sort something out for you!
